Michael Godin has been involved in music and broadcasting in Canada since 1969. When he was 16 years old, he had a high school radio station and even interviewed John Lennon during his Bed-In for Peace at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal. Michael was music director and disc jockey with CFQR, CFCF, CJFM – all in Montreal; and CFOM in Quebec City. His voiceover work includes being the voice for two Mattel Toys television commercials, the “He-Man Power Sword” and the “Skeletor Skull Staff”, which ran for two years in the United States. He joined A&M Records Canada in Toronto in the fall of 1975, as Director of Artist and Repertoire. Later he became Vice-President Artist & Repertoire. One of the highlights of his career at A&M and is the signing and development of mega star, Bryan Adams. Michael also worked with Lance Freed, President of Rondor Music International, the music publishing division of A&M Records and son of Rock & Roll pioneer Disc Jockey, Alan Freed.

In 1997 Michael returned to on-air broadcasting when he launched Treasure Island Oldies as its host and producer. Treasure Island Oldies became a pioneering show and today is one of the world’s longest running weekly radio shows on the Internet. Since the show began in 1997, Treasure Island Oldies has been working closely with Hugh Dobbie Jr and the online streaming companies he started. In the fall of 2016, Hugh’s new venture, Yare Media, is the exclusive online streaming host for Treasure Island Oldies.

Michael also works in Television sales with KVOS MeTV in their Vancouver office and builds and maintains relationships with advertising clients and helps them bring their message to the viewers who are the ideal demographic, the 50 Plus Baby Boomers. They love watching the all-time top-rated Classic TV shows KVOS MeTV has 24/7. It’s a great fit.

2017 Treasure Island Oldies marks a milestone, not only for Treasure Island Oldies but for the Internet Broadcasting itself, as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary! Over these years, Treasure Island Oldies has been carried on dozens of AM, FM and Online radio stations around the world in the Canada, United States, China, Cypus, Germany, Italy, England, Ireland, Sweden, and New Zealand. These stations then and now became part of the Treasure Island Oldies Broadcast Partners Network.
