Frank Allan

Frank Allan was born and raised in Brooklyn NY. He started his radio career while in college in 1970 during a time when there was no internship to help him along. So he went to the school of hard knocks by hanging out at local radio stations, getting familiar with all of the DJ’s, and they with him. He became a gofer for them by running across the street to buy them coffee, cigarettes and sandwiches. His only payment was that they would buy him something just for making the run.
Frank did anything it took to make his dream come alive. Frank became a Disc Jockey in college radio and became very popular with his peers at school. His first professional on air experience was at WWRL in New York as a talk show host. Frank was determined to make sure that in the end there was nothing he couldn’t do in radio. He held positions as General Manager, Program Director, Production Supervisor, Disc Jockey, Talk Show Host, News Anchor, Board Operator and the list goes on.

He’s done work at some of the biggest stations in New York. WWRL, WOR, WCBS, WPAT, ESPN, just to name a few. Now he’s head of Frank Allan Productions producing Radio and TV commercials and documentaries. His most favorite documentary is his childhood idol Moon Dog Alan Freed which he produced and narrated¬†https://vimeo.com/246574406¬†Frank said many times before, if it weren’t for Alan Freed, he probably would be doing something else. The first time he heard Alan Freed on the radio in the 50’s, he knew right then and there he was destine to become a radio disc jockey. And now today he gets to entertain the world with his weekly oldies formatted syndicated radio show Music Beat.
